Mobilizing Your Marketing

Yesterday I attended a seminar sponsored by Modern Mail from Newark, DE. They had a keynote speaker and presenter by the name of John Foley, from InterlinkONE and Grow Socially . John took us on a journey of mobile applications, QR codes, mobile landing pages, tracking tools and how to create multi-channel marketing campaigns. It was the first of a series of Renovate Your Business Seminars from Modern Mail.

QR Codes are nothing new. They have been around since 1994. They were first used in Japan, but they have only been on our marketing radar in the US for the past few years. QR code marketing, designed with a mobile campaign can provide real-time lead generation as well as definitive business advantages in your ability to communicate with your customer base.

The smart phone has changed the way we communicate with our business contacts, family and friends. Smart phone sales have soared in the past 5 years mainly due to units becoming more affordable and new models coming what seems like every week.

The number of people accessing the web with their mobile phones continues to increase. We are now more inclined to use our phones and tablets to browse, respond, reply to email and shop, rather than use our desktop computers. So how can we use these tools to help our customers reach us?

So what do you need to know? Do you need to design your website for both desktop/note book browsers as well as mobile users? The answer is yes. Have you ever reached a site on your phone where the size of the text is akin to trying to read something engraved on the head of a pin? It’s frustrating and in some cases defeats the purpose of the link in the first place. You should look at optimizing your website as a full-site and mobile site to accommodate your customers choice of browsing device.

There’s a website you need to check out – iflymobi.com. The site guides you through the process of setting up mobile websites, creating site links to social media, generating QR codes and response tools with metrics. It’s set up as SAS – software as a service, with a monthly fee which is affordable for every small business, or individual user.

Creating mobile response programs for your marketing campaigns can begin as simply as using your business card and placing a QR code on the front and rear of the card. In less than 10 minutes you’ll have redefined the way you communicate with your customers.

Using Mobile Marketing should be one on the ways you reach out to your customers. Print communication is not just paper anymore. We need to use all of the tools and technology available to reach our current customers and future clients. The question is when will you begin?
